Services are listed below:

Pharmacy Pickup Hours

Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 5 pm

Refills

Call 01638-52-8091, or the MTF appointment line at 01638-52-8010, to access the mandatory automated refill call-in system to process refills.  Patients may also utilize Tricare Online (TOL) to request refills.  Patients will be given the option of picking-up their refill(s) at the Script Center lockers located at the RAF Mildenhall Main Express/Shoppette, the RAF Lakenheath BX or going directly to the MTF pharmacy pick-up window.  Refills will be ready for pick-up at the requested location after 1000 on the second duty day.

New Prescriptions From an On-Base Provider

Prescriptions from on-base providers are electronically entered and transmitted to the pharmacy for filling.  Currently, new prescriptions must be picked-up at the MTF Pharmacy.  Patients must activate their prescriptions virtually before coming to the pharmacy by calling the MTF appointment line at 01638-52-8010, and following the prompts.  Patients may also utilize TOL to activate their electronic prescriptions.  Medications for acute treatment will be ready same day and the patient will be provided with a projected pick-up time.  All other activation requests will be ready the next duty day after 1000.

New Prescriptions From an Off-Base Provider

Prescriptions can be filled at a local U.K. pharmacy.  Some U.K. pharmacies will bill TRICARE directly for the patient, if not, then reimbursement can be requested through the TRICARE office or online at www.tricare-overseas.com. This option is strongly recommended for medication given for acute issues (i.e., from the Emergency Room) to avoid treatment delays.  RAF Lakenheath Pharmacy will fill hard-copy prescriptions from many U.K. providers for medications that are on the formulary.

Prescription Activation

All new on-base provider ordered prescriptions will need to be “activated” by the patient prior to picking-up from the MTF pharmacy.  Activations must be accomplished virtually by calling the appointment line at 01638-52-8010 or by utilizing TOL.

Drug-Take-Back Program

There is a medication collection bin located in the lobby of the RAF Lakenheath Pharmacy.  Patients may place their outdated or unwanted medications, with some limitations, in the collection bin for destruction.  The intent of the collection bin is for patients to dispose of their own medications; no bulk disposal.

PharmD Clinic

The Pharmacy offers acute care services for anticoagulation management.  Initial appointments must be scheduled through the patient’s PCM.  Appointments with a PharmD will be scheduled directly with the provider.

Services provided by your Dental office are listed below:

Dental Sick Call & Emergencies

Dental Sick Call is available for immediate care of permanent tooth loss, oral bleeding, or mouth swelling on a daily basis. Dental Clinic Sick Call hours change daily, please call the appointment line at 0163852 8010 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to coordinate an appointment time.  After hours emergent dental care is available through the Emergency Department.

Dependent Dental Care
  • All dependent (adult and pediatric) dental care at the Lakenheath Dental Clinic is on a priority of care basis. The priority of care goes from dental emergencies, class 3 members, active duty members, dependents, retirees, and finally pay patients. Many dependents see local dentists as we cannot accommodate all dependents at all times due to the flux of mission essential treatment needs for our active duty population.
  • It is advised to enroll and keep your family in TRICARE Dental Insurance to ensure your family has access to care when they need it.

On-Base Treatment

Call the Lakenheath Dental Clinic for availability. Patients under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, children cannot be left unattended during an appointment for the parent or during an appointment for another child in the family. It is recommended to obtain childcare coverage during appointments for parents.

Off-Base Treatment

No referral is needed to use TRICARE insurance for dental treatment. Contact the dental clinic for TRICARE Dental providers in your area.

Orthodontic Care

Orthodontic treatment at the Dental Clinic is available on a limited basis for active duty and dependent children. It is determined by the severity of need. Active duty and children arriving to Lakenheath with orthodontic appliances or braces are not guaranteed on-base treatment. There are local providers available who are able to complete routine cases. To locate an orthodontist off-base contact TRICARE Dental.

Optometry Clinic

The Optometry Clinic provides routine eye exams for active duty only.

Dependents can be seen off base one time per year without a referral for an annual eye exam and glasses prescription only.  Tricare does not cover exams for contact lens prescriptions.  The following is a list of providers in the immediate area who accept TRICARE:

  • Lakenheath Opticians – 01842861999, Tricare pays from start to finish
  • Brandon: Helen Ashby – 01842815055, Tricare pays from start to finish

Treatment Differences

Many options are available to you, such as Western, Eastern, and homeopathic techniques. Talk with your doctor or patient liaison if you are in pain or are not responding well to these treatments. U.K. doctors may not always have a chaperone when examining a patient of the opposite sex. If you feel uncomfortable, it is appropriate to ask for an additional person in the room.

Be aware that some medications that the U.S. classifies as controlled substances are available without a prescription but are not authorized for active duty members.
